Silja Tillner has splendidly transformed the courtyard of the Vienna Town Hall from a drear and dull internal lightwell to a place with great social potential for concerts, balls and plays by providing it with a most ingenious mobile folding roof. She and her engineers and Christopher Lottersberger deserve much praise for revolutionising a very fine neo-Gothic building.
